The performance and video work are one of the examples that show the extreme aspect of Young-churl Shim's multi-purpose expression method. First of all, the themes of the performance are religious and historical events. Wandering the streets of Osaka in the costume of Empress Myeongseong to commemorate March 1^st, or <The Pilgrim> presented at the 2000 International Performing Arts Festival in Insadong, Juksan are prime examples. Due to the nature of the work emphasizing the theme, the characteristics of the performance do not deviate much from the aforementionedcategory of narrative art. Video work is also evaluated to play an auxiliary role for installation work.
